DeSoto was known for its high-performance Hemi engines. In 1952, DeSoto introduced the Firedome with its 276-cui Hemi engine. Its six-cylinder vehicles were known as Powermaster. During its heyday, DeSoto’s most popular models were the Firesweep, Firedome and Fireflite. Unfortunately, it cannot be determined which of those models were assembled in Schinznach-Bad between 1954 and 1956.
